At BI Incorporated, our unwavering commitment to innovation is the cornerstone of our mission to support community corrections. For over four decades, BI has invested heavily in research and development to create future-ready products that not only meet current needs but also anticipate the challenges of tomorrow.

Our technologies enable courts and correctional agencies to effectively monitor individuals under community supervision, and their clients to live productive lives while supporting compliance with release conditions. This dual focus on accountability and community integration supports reduced recidivism and successful outcomes.

“The intersection of technology and community corrections presents immense opportunities for positive change. Our investment in next-gen technologies and infrastructure demonstrates our ongoing commitment to delivering secure, scalable, and future-ready solutions that meet the evolving needs of the agencies we serve and the individuals they supervise.” – Isabel Yang Executive Vice President, BI Incorporated

Advancing Location Tracking Technology

BI has made significant strides in location tracking technology for community corrections, expanding beyond traditional satellite-based solutions. Our software engineers have leveraged Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) to develop highly accurate and reliable monitoring solutions that provide real-time location tracking, geofencing capabilities, and historical movement data.

Our multi-constellation approach, which builds upon GPS technology, ensures consistent performance even in challenging environments such as urban areas with limited sky view.

Discreet Monitoring Options

Recognizing the importance of client privacy and reducing stigma, BI offers discreet monitoring options. BI VeriWatch® resembles a standard smartwatch, enabling wearers to blend into their social environments while incorporating essential monitoring features alongside everyday utilities.

Another less restrictive option is the BI SmartLINK® mobile monitoring app, which can be used in lieu of body-worn devices. This solution offers robust communication tools and mobile tracking capabilities.

Our comprehensive strategy addresses privacy concerns and fosters successful reintegration, striking a balance between effective supervision and respect for the individuals we serve. This commitment to innovation and responsiveness reflects our dedication to evolving with the needs of community corrections agencies and the populations they supervise.

Enhanced Mobile App Monitoring

BI has refined the SmartLINK app based on officer feedback, ensuring it meets functional requirements and enhances the overall user experience with a fresh, user-friendly interface for both officers and their clients.

The app features more intuitive navigation and a centralized home screen with a convenient to-do list that clearly highlights tasks, making it easy for users to stay compliant. Additionally, the new interface simplifies the enrollment process for individuals who may struggle with smartphone navigation, allowing officers to enroll clients more quickly.

Our new mobile development environment enables us to create high-performance applications across multiple platforms efficiently and reduces time to market. This advancement allows for more responsive updates and feature enhancements, ultimately benefiting both officers and individuals under community supervision.

Robust Data Security Measures

Data integrity, security, and reliability are fundamental to all BI technology solutions. Our mobile applications incorporate robust security features to address common vulnerabilities:

  • Secure authentication options
  • Enhanced data protection measures
  • Protective measures for network security
  • Secure storage solutions for sensitive data

These security features enable BI to create resilient mobile applications that effectively safeguard user data and mitigate security risks.

Cloud Technology and Compliance

BI has achieved another three-year Authority to Operate (ATO) with a federal agency for operating our TotalAccess application on a FedRAMP-compliant cloud platform, demonstrating our commitment to meeting stringent security and compliance standards. This milestone provides our customers with:

  • Enhanced performance and speed
  • Increased reliability and uptime
  • Scalability to meet agency needs
  • Advanced security measures
  • Improved flexibility for rapid innovation

The BI cloud infrastructure adheres to global standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC 2, ensuring that partners can trust in the integrity and confidentiality of their data.

Looking Ahead

As we continue to redefine industry standards with our tech-forward strategy, our public sector partners can expect a steady stream of cutting-edge solutions. These innovations are designed to enhance efficiency, improve accuracy, and provide more comprehensive tools for supervision and support.

By choosing BI, partners align with a leader dedicated to long-term success. We remain committed to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, while working with agencies to shape the future of community-focused operations.
